FINALLY, a sign that something is happening. Two weeks from my mailing in the paperwork to their acknowledgement of same. Now I can rest easy that my paperwork is not languishing on the floor of the mail room in Austin.

It's gonna seem like a long wait but hang in there, those updates are great to see after logging in all the time to see if anything is happening.

I'm taking my class on March 10th. Can I do the online app and get fingerprinted before I goto the class?

Yes, except for the passport photos, taking the class was the last thing I did. Some classes even include the photos.

Today I got a different status:

"Background Check : Completed
Concealed Handgun License : Manufacturing Pending"

So, background check took 2 weeks start to finish. Progress!

It's finally here!! I can stop obsessing over it!

Of course, I do still wonder why they sent it Pony Express; mail shouldn't take a full week to get from Austin to Houston. But that doesn't matter now: the sun is shining, birds singing, etc., etc.
