I believe that they must update the site to mailed before it actually is physically dropped in the mail. I recieved my CHL back in March and I remember that it arrived about 5 or 6 business days after the date they showed as mailed. I would bet that you should be receiving it in the next couple of days. Congratulations!!

I would guess this is likely true. Also, it is the holidays and the mail gets very busy.

Having worked for state agencies for many decades, I can say that "mailed" usually means "sent downstairs to the mail room." I know that makes you feel better...

I guess if you get pulled over while your plastic is in the mail you will just have to explain to the officer that it takes over a week to get mail from Austin. Cause you know you are already in the system and when he checks you are going to come up as CHL holder. :confused5

You could always, you know, drive a little more carefully so you don't get pulled over.

Congrats! i've seen a trend though, for every step there seems to be a week in between the updating process and what nots. I'm assuming thebigapp and myself are both going to receive our plastic nearly on the same day.. sometime on Tues/Weds of next week. Would be pretty funny for my to get it on Weds seeing as how I'm going to SA that day.

Less than a week during the Christmas mail flood isn't too bad.
I believe the basic political division in this country is not between liberals and conservatives but between those who believe that they should have a say in the personal lives of strangers and those who do not.
