wait a minute!!! I think your wife should hide it for a month or so when it comes in... How are you going to appreciate your license if you don't have to wait and squirm like the rest of us? "rlol"

Congrats man! Hope it comes fast. :cheers2:

Yes, pretty crazy how quick that happened. Hopefully it won't sit around in manufacturing too long..

Glad it wasn't just me. I was checking status and the page errored out. Stressed out a little when I got a screen saying my data was not in the system...

"This Texas.gov service is temporarily down for maintenance.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Please check back soon."

Maybe hitting refresh on my browser so regularly is not too good for their systems.

Congrads Compadre! I think our time lines are exactly the same as I just received my plastic today too! :woohoo :cheers2:

Now I'll need an update from you on the execution of your tactical flip-flop plan!

Thanks and congrats on yours also! I think you'll agree, words cannot describe the feeling of seeing that pretty white envelope in the mailbox from DPS. I learned so much last night so quickly. We started at a restaurant where I found myself sitting at the end of a table where I was closest to the wait staff traffic. All I could think after about 15 minutes there was how less self-conscious I would be if I were sitting along the side of the table with someone to my right so my right side would be covered and I wouldn't have to worry as much about accidentally printing or exposure. I had a nice plan for the walk, along with the tactical flip flops and Hawaiian shirt but that was all for naught, as we ended up at Wallyworld after dinner anyway. Since we were there, we figured we'd knock it out without the guidance of my trusty checklist. My kids took pictures with my phone so some of them are a bit blurry, but I'll post them anyway if anyone's interested in seeing them. As bad as some of the pictures are, it's worth it to have them to see myself as others may have last night. Seems most of them are us horsing around in sporting goods for about 20 minutes after repeated requests for someone with the magic keys to show up to sell ammo. We had a lot of fun with it, though! The baptism of nervousness was behind us after the restaurant experience, so we did plenty of goofing off :biggrinjester:

Sounded like a good, fun experience. Just glad you didn't have to draw down on anyone on the first night!

Mine was pretty nondescript. Wallyworld stop for a couple of things and meandered around a little bit. Thought upon entering I may have to do a brisk gate in a serpantine fashion as to not give anyone the opportunity to 'make me'. But no worries. (I think where I live I probably could have duct-taped my colt 1911 to my forehead and no one would have given me a second glance, maybe a possible inquiry as to how the 'action' is with that thing.) Being a comfortable 2-day veteran now, I may venture out soon with about 5 on my person just to make the 1 seem easy! :coolgleamA:

Just out of curiosity, what part of this great state do y'all hang your hats? :txflag:

Denton, TX! We shoot out at Quail creek every 2-3 weeks. There are a bunch of great recommendations in the forums, looking forward to trying them all in the area :)
