Waiting for anything!

Hey guys and gals,

I'm a new member to the forum but I have already found some great information that has impacted my CHL application experience. As of Monday, I have sent in all the supporting documents to finish out my application. I find myself checking the status of my application for changes at least twice a day, and so far I haven't even seen any update that they have received my materials. I'm staying as patient as I can but these quick turn-around times that I've seen on the forum have me hoping that I am holding my plastic in the next two weeks!!!! Hopefully Monday or Tuesday next week has some great things in store!!!

As an ol' seasoned veteran of one week on the forum...Welcome! Yeah, talk about quick turnaround times...DPS got my papers last Wednesday, I had no updates at all for a week. I was absolutely climbing the walls! Then Wednesday week it shows manufacture pending. Thursday evening in manufacturing. Friday morning mailed! Insane!

Heck, I almost stayed home from work today in anticipation of the Governor himself hand-delivering my plastic!

I remember when the Governor came and handed me my plastic, it was a nice spring day.... (elapse into day dream)

I am amazed at the turnaround they are getting on some of the applications. Welcome to the forum!!!

Seems once the status changes online initially, they appear to be processing them pretty quickly. If you call, it will be somewhat disheartening to hear them say something like 'it could be weeks before this is completed'. I heard this when I called to see if they had received my stuff, but then the next day status was updated to manufacturing pending and then next thing you know - mailed within a few days. Now I watch my mailbox like a hawk. My Saturday yard work schedule has been modified to occur between 11 and 1 today to ensure nobody parks in front of my mailbox causing any delays :) Good luck on your wait, seems like forever since I started this but now that I'm just waiting for delivery, totally worth it! While waiting, I've found that planning out a great WallyWalk has been helpful in passing time. I have my checklist sitting next to my tactical flip-flops ready to go!!

07-22-2011 - Called, was told it could be weeks before the app is processed
07-23-2011 - Application received, Background check completed, Manufacturing pending
07-26-2011 - Called, was told on phone that license is being printed up and will receive it in 7 - 14 days
07-27-2011 - Manufacturing
07-28-2011 - Mailed

That's hilarious, I know what you mean! I have a little office at home that looks out to the mailbox/front yard and I have never seen the mailman before 1pm in the years I've lived here. It's 7:30 am and a pretty day...I see no reason why he wouldn't be running 6 hours ahead of schedule...!!!

Well, plastic was a no-show today. Hopefully the fact that I told my local postal delivery person that he did not qualify for the plate of cookies I was holding will not affect Monday's delivery! And the beat goes on...

I just got my first update and my background check is under review. Here's to hoping it goes quickly. I go back to work in about less than two weeks and I can't carry there so I want to at least carry a little

Opened my mailbox this afternoon to see a letter from the DPS and i jumped in joy!!!

turns out it was just my drivers license renewal


Checked the website to see that my application is still listed as BG under review. From what I've read it seems as though the website is running behind the production schedule. Hopefully this is still the case!!!!!! My BG is clear, so I don't know why things are taking soooooo long.

lol! That is funny as heck! I can not imagine seeing that envelope, and being sure it was there, and then finding out it was a stupid DL renewal. That takes the cake. I don't think I have ever read that here, before.

DPS should really be more considerate when sending out DLs to people who are waiting for their CHLs. I would have been in a bad mood for the rest of the day.

The wait for the CHL and the possibility for another letter from the DPS that is not my license!!!!!



My DL had a few errors on it and after emailing their support line and working out the kinks on my DL I was told that I would be receiving another DL in the mail about 2 weeks from now. I am happy that they are rushing it, but if I open another letter expecting it to be my chl, but rather it is my DL, I might have to rip it all up!!
