Update?

#16

Post by SW40VE »

Yesterday (Friday) evening, I checked my CHL status and it said the usual, "Processing Application". I was bored this afternoon, logged in just for fun and giggles, and it says "No application or license/certificate active." Does this mean it is on the way or is this an error of some sort?

Nevermind. I answered my own question. I accidentally tried to log into the instructor certificate portion of the site. Still processing....arrg.

The notorious day number 45 is upon me. Still processing  . I think by the time I get my license, I will have already worn this gun out. I have about 2000 rounds through it so far and had my first FTE at about round number 1,985 with WWB value pack ammo. What is the life span of a weapon when it comes to number of rounds you can put through it? It is a SA XD 9mm Service model.

Day number 48. Called DPS, got a nice lady on the other end. She told me they got my information back (I guess meaning the background checks) and it was forewarded to a tech. I don't know what part of the process this is. Could be the person who reviews everything before it is finalized or the person who deals with problems with an application...anyone know? She asked if i'd like to speak to him and I said sure. She told me if he doesn't answer, leave a message and he'll call me back. It rang 4 times then went to voicemail. I left my message and asked for a return call along with all of my information. This was at about noon and I never heard back from them. Do you think maybe there was something wrong with my app?

Still "Processing Application".....

Hooray! I spoke to a great person named Roger at DPS to ask if there were any problems with my application or if he needed any additional paperwork. He asked me to hold on a sec while he looked through a stack of papers on his desk. He found my background checks that came back, which he said must have come in on Tuesday. Then he said, "Well, everything looks great, you should have it in about a week!". So, here we are, day number 49 since they received my application, and my plastic will probably be printed tomorrow or Friday.

Should I be concerned that I have had my license for two weeks and my online status still shows processing app.?

No don't be concerned. you have your plastic. your legal. the web site is behind but at least they are catching up on apps. mine took 78 days earlier this year.
