TxRedbone who posted right after you on this thread got his packet to DPS 1 day ahead of me, got status a week ahead of me and has already had his plastic printed and in the mail.cableguy wrote:I hate that there is nothing to really go by. Like many have said here it is the luck of the draw as to when you get a status or update or when they actually mail the card.

You should probably see something on Saturday morning, both of my updates happened sometime overnight Fridaynight into Saturday and status was about 3 weeks from receipt.cableguy wrote:I would just be happy to see an update on the website.

Don't worry, it sometimes takes a while. Re: June 2010 applications
Plastic arrived yesterday!!!
Today I started my first day as a legally armed citizen by doing the ATM amble, moved on to the repair shop shuffle to get my inspection done, then on the the legendary Wally Walk to pick up a new knife, and topped off my morning with a Wataburger Waddle. After work, the wife and I went on my "official" Wally Walk where I grabbed stuff from the top and bottom shelf, hefted a 40# bag of dog food into the basket, and stood in the impatient husband position while she tried on shoes. We picked up the obligitory Hawiian shirt, then I dropped some stuff on the floor and had to do the self conscious bend at the knees to pick it back up. Really the Wally Walk(s) were the easy part, I was much more self conscious at Wataburger.

yes indeed, congratulations!! Given that we are in Texas perhaps all Wally Walks should end with a celebratory Whataburger Waddlecableguy wrote:congrats canvasback.
Re: June 2010 applications
Man, I submitted my paperwork as a veteran ($70 is an awesome deal) and I'm still waiting. DPS received it on June 4th and I've had status for about a month now. Still pending review.TxRedbone wrote:I dont know if it matters but I did claim veterans preference and the fee was only $70 Great Deal!

I am really beginning to despise the words, "background check under review."

Re: June 2010 applications
I myself really don't like the "application: received" because that's the first thing I see when I log on to check. Either way though, I feel your pain.Texas Size 11 wrote:I am really beginning to despise the words, "background check under review."

Is it just me, or does the wait for background completion seem to drag much more than the wait for status?
