Hi, After reading this forum regularly for the last year or so I'm finally joining! My paperwork is in the mail today and nothing to do now but wait... and shop for a new holster.... and probably need another new gun (I'll try to convince my wife that all of my other guns are just too big... let you know how that works for me  ) .

HI mark4140! Welcome to the forum! Glad to have you with us, and hope your wait is a short one! :thumbs2:

What part of this great State do you hail from? And what do you plan on putting in that holster you're shopping for?

Thanks! I'm honestly not really sure what I'm going to carry. I have an FNP9 that I really love but it might be a little big for daily carry. I have a M&P9 sub compact that is small enough but I dont really like to shoot it that much. Also have a PX4 but it feels pretty big too. I'm really looking at the new PX4 subcompact. Those seem pretty nice. Also looking at an XD subcompact.

Several of our forum members carry the XD subcompact and really love them. And I sure do like the looks of that PX4 Storm subcompact myself! :thumbs2:

the Beretta Px4 SC 9mm is very nice - look also at the Glock 26 - both about the same price - own / love both - they are different guns - both beautiful, high-quality guns with 12/13 rounds capacity each with extender on the Glock - the Beretta has an external safety/hammer drop and is double action - where as the Glock is ready to fire and not double action (if you have a dud round you'd have to cycle that out anyways) - both fire with/without magazine...

My vote goes to the XD subcompact, preferably in .40 S&W ;-)

I took your advise and decided on the XD subcompact- only in 9mm (because I have a zillion 9mm rounds already). Now time to go to the farm & test it out.

I think you'll be happy with your choice. :thumbs2:

The XD's are extremely accurate considering the short barrel.
Mine has never had any malfunctions to date.

Let us know how its first range session goes. ;-)

Well... bad news. My wife came into my office to check out the new MTAC holster that just came in (awesome holster by the way). She then decided to take a bizarre & sudden interest in my new XD. She asked if she could hold it and how she should grip it to shoot and where the safety was......uhhhh "WHAT! THERE IS NO SAFETY???!!!!". Seeing the future of my XD carrying on the chopping block I carefully explained all of the safety features of the gun and how it was almost impossible to accidentally shoot it..... "BUT THERE IS NO SAFETY!!???". She said there was no way I was going to carry that gun without a safety. "What if the kids picked it up somehow? Like if you took it off for just a second to climb under the car or up on the roof of the house?" I guess my argument of just unloading the gun was not good enough... she VETOED my new gun! :cryin

BUT she said, and I quote "wasn't there another gun that you were looking at (PX4sc) that had a safety on it? You need to just put the XD in the safe and get that one."

:anamatedbanana YEEE HAWWWW!!! I GET ANOTHER GUN THIS MONTH!!!! :anamatedbanana

The PX4 was not my first choice but a very close second. My wife is awesome!
