Just Saw Online Approval

I just checked the online status board at DPS and I've received my CHL!

Yes, I'm a happy camper. I sent my package in on January 19th and blew it, since I accidently sent the copies instead of the originals. They sent it back, I sent it back (yes, the originals), and now, Feb 11th I get online confirmation of application process.

I live in Fort Bend County. I was pretty surprised as the fast evaluation myself. But, I've been a good boy and I was background checked last year for Homeland Security's TWIC program. I'm not sure if that somehow shows up on my record or not. My neighbor took the class with me, but didn't register online until the night before the class. He's already been checked (found a small mistake on employment dates) and he's already got the package revised. I'm going to check to see if he's seen his approval yet.

Since I'd heard about all the LLLLOOOONNNNNGGGG waits last year, I was extremely surprised by the fast turn around. It's good to be in Texas.
