Well my first armed walk did not involve Wally World! Since I had to work all last week I dident get to carry until monday. But for my first armed outing I was out alot of the day. I did feel a little like people were looking at me but I dident do to bad. I first went and got a haircut, then to the outlet mall for a few hours of shopping to get a couple of shirts. Its pretty hard to find some decent button up shirts to wear untucked. Then I went to GT distributers, this was were I felt the most nervous. Lots of people in there and most of the LEO's. Then I went out and had some fast food. Over all it was a pretty long day for my first carry. Was a good breakin for my MTAC holster, when I was wearing it around the house it squeaked a little bit. Even after putting some leather softner on it. But once I was out among people I did not notice it at all.
Ohh and as a side note for anyone that visits GT dist. they no longer limit most of the SD ammo to LEO's only. Anyone can buy all of the SD ammo now. I dident find this out till I was at the register checking out. Otherwise I would have picked up some gold dot to try out. Picked up 2 more boxes of the Hornady critical defense 9mm. I am still waiting on them to get me my MK9, but they have the best price on that weapon of anyone in town. Only 3 places I found that carry this weapon. GT wants $569.00, Reds $730.00, and Mcbrides is asking $629.00. Plus there prices on ammo and everything else seems to be the best in town! Anyway I love this place.

Re: First time out
Congrats on your first outing. I've only been carrying for about a week. I started out only a little nervous, but then got more comfortable; and I carry a full size 1911.
And I was under the impression that GT Distributors only served active duty military, LEOs, EMTs, fire fighters, and the such. Or is that just for certain equipment; like firearms and such. I know they discount firearms for military and LEO, but not sure about the other items. I thought about trying to chance it with my VA ID, but all the LEOs in there made me nervous.
Anyhow, congrats again on your concealed outing.

Re: First time out
Congratulations. I've only had my CHL for about a month now but have already gotten much more comfortable in public. I carry either a compact 1911 or a snubnose .38 IWB and always have a KelTec P32 in a wallet holster in my back pocket. First couple of times were nerve wracking but now I hardly give it a second thought.
Re: First time out
GT dist sells to the public to. The only thing that is limited now I think are certain weapons. As far as handguns I know there are 3 types they do not sell to the public Glock, Sig, and one other. But the rest, including any of the used guns anyone can buy. They seem to have the best prices around least for the Kahr's havent really comapired the others cause I like Sig and I know I cant buy the news ones there.
But been carrying every time I go out now. I like being able to carry, so far I havent seen anyplace with a 30.06 sign. But mostly been to shopping centers and stores so far. In the last couple of weeks I have now gone into Best Buy, Target, Wally world, HEB, and the outlet mall. As well as resturants and such.

Re: First time out
If you have any one the can sew just a little or can afford some simple alterations here is what I do.
Find the nice talored dress shirt that you like. Get them to square it up at the high point of the side Talor area. You can starch & iron that shirt & they look plenty good.
I have several.
I am blessed that my Mom loves to sew & also carries.
