it depends on your county , but from this point , 2 more months sounds about right .Bakeek wrote:Checked my status today and I have made it to "Processing Application"! So I guess the standard wait from here is about another 2 months?

You bring up a real good point...but remember we are talking about government jobs here. My very good friend took a government internship during college and he was routinely criticized by his superiors for getting too much work done too fast...The Sarge wrote:I am convinced (no I am not a conspiracy fruit nor wear a tin foil hat) that the real issue is not resources to process applications nor background checks. That is way too easy to resolve.....I am convinced it is management at DPS does not like gun carrying law abiding citizens. Maybe middle management or maybe upper management...but as business owner myself for over 30 years I can say without hesitation that if there is an issue and one really wants to fix it you can....and if you do not wish to fix it you can throw up as many obstacles as possible to make it die on the vine.
Somebody or a group of management at DPS is anti gun.
You make a lot of sense...If this is what they are doing its a pretty sad world we live inThe Sarge wrote:I hear what your saying friend....but....just to be slow and lazy does not account for the facts DPS is playing "games" here outside/above and beyond just incompetence. I mean being lazy does not account for one letter stating your app is incomplete because a picture isn't signed.....then almost a month later saying "Oh now it is incomplete because your birth date format is incorrect".....that is flat out in your face roadblocks to the process.
I wonder how many people give up? Is that their plan? That we will just give up? Does the State of Texas really want it's citizens armed? Trained and carrying? If you listen to the politicians the answer is yes. But actions speak louder than words where I am from.
Stay focused, Sarge. The Texas DPS has no intent on managing your health care. That is something/somewhere altogether different. DPS has hired a bunch of new people to process the huge increase in applications. I'm not surprised that there will be unfortunate newby mistakes made. Not a government conspiracy to keep you from getting your CHL.The Sarge wrote: I will continue to play the Government game.....and these banana's want to manage my health care?
