60 Days...All Over Again

#1

Post by cdc101 »

Well, after my bonehead move of forgetting to fill out the US citizen and DOB sections on my fingerprint card (was notified of this last month), I just called DPS to see where my app currently was (showing 'Processing Application on DPS website).

It seems, according to Keelee there, that my 60 days was reset to February 5th. I guess that I was under the impression that the background check could still happen simultaneously...which was what Felicia told me last week when I called.

So, instead of my 60 days being this Saturday (Feb 14th), my new date is April 6th.

Joy... :waiting:

Everyone who reads this...PLEASE MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS FILLED OUT. I thought I had made sure, but I should have triple checked..

They did the same thing to me. I'm on day 83 from when they received my packet but my new 60 day date is March 21. All because the pictures that were taken in my class were too dark. Better check those pics before you send them as well. :banghead:

THere have been reports of people making corrections and still getting done within their original 60 days... so I think it just depends.

I'm hoping I'm one of those cases but I'll definitely not hold my breath.

Keep the faith guys...I got the words that everybody waits for today..."Application Completed - license issued or certificate active". Total day count was 85, which included re-submitting my pictures. I guess that's not too bad compared to some on here that had to wait so much longer. I guess when they say your 60 days starts over it really doesn't because I was only 25 days into my second 60. A special thanks to Charles L. Cotton who told me that from the begining. :rolll

I just read your other post in 'The Waiting Room' main thread and I can say that it does give me some hope.

Thanks for sharing in my thread too!

My CHL instructor told me that you don't necessarily have to wait 60 days all over again, but that the state has 60 days to notify you of SOMETHING during each exchange (or everytime you have to send them something), and that cases like this could just be them resetting the required time in which they have to contact you again.

I had a similar deal. I left blanks in my work history because I was a student and did not work for a semester. Apparently there can be no blanks. They sent the notification, but the post office returned it to DPS for some reason. DPS never tried sending it again and I did not find out until I called in December. I would have inquired sooner, but when I took the class I was told to expect it to take 4-5 months, so I waited...on 12/16 when I found out and updated everything, I was told the 60 days would start all over again.

Then, I moved at the end of January so I decided to have them update my address before they sent it out. I caught them just in time; they had the license printed and were going to send it out. It looks like the 60 days started all over again..."Processing Application" I should have just waited to get the License and then pay to update the address later.

Can't wait for the Government to run my health care too...

DPS Sent Pin No.: 08/05

DPS Sent Finger Prints Back: 09/29
Took FAST Prints: 11/07
DPS Received FAST Prints: 11/20
Finally Received Pin No. From DPS: 12/10
Found out Incomplete Application Status Info.: 12/16
Faxed Missing Application Info. to DPS: 12/16
Emailed State Representatives & Governor: 12/16

I had a misake with my application. I call it a "speed bump". I still had plastic in hand in 59 days. Good luck.
