You're not missing anything. The CHL rules say basically "if you're asked for ID, you give ID if you have a CHL." They don't say "You can decline to give ID if you're concealing a gun under some OTHER law."

Well, I got a "Application incomplete - missing information - detailed letter has been sent." showing on the web site. I guess I'll have to wait and see what the problem is when I get the letter.

11/15/08 - Class taken
11/21/08 - Package received by DPS
11/12/08 - Received PIN
12/12/08 - Processing Application
12/31/08 - Application incomplete - missing information - detailed letter has been sent

That's odd, my status never changed from "App Processing" until it was complete, even when they sent me a letter asking about more info on an "arrest".

I've got a question for you guys: I plan to email/call my State Senator (Rodney Ellis) and State Rep (Garnet Coleman) at day 61, would you recommend any others (i.e. Governor's office, US House Rep, Cornyn/Kay Bailey in the Senate)?

I'm finding I'm about as impatient as my wife always says I am. I hate it when she's right...

when Tammy from the DPS called me, she mentioned a letter from the senator.
But just to be on the safe side, I would do both your district rep / senator.

glad to see it looks like things are still moving. I'm sure the holidays have slowed everything down considerably....but after reading Morgan's and Fang's ...I keep hoping mine will be here anyday.....needless to say...I'm still showing "processing application".

:totap: the wait continues..... :grumble I know many have had to wait longer...but it seems like the closer you get to the potential time you could get it...the worse the wait becomes! :waiting:

The period of time between when you know the state got yours and when you went to "processing" (assuming you checked every day and know with a day that it was started) is a little longer than I'd have guessed... but still, within what they claim SHOULD be "normal" I'd still guess you'll have it this month, if you're delay-free.

as soon as I got my Pin by email I started checking mine. went to "processing application" on 12/3. been "stuck" there ever since. like I said in my last post...I know many have waited much, much longer than i have....but I sure am getting anxious! I'm at the checking everytime I get on the net phase now.... maybe there's some kind of hit counter on the DPS website to see who checks theirs the most and they get theirs sooner "rlol" ....well...I better go ding my app again :smilelol5:
