It's a white hanky that is big enough to cover my XD. If a hanky isn't big enough then get a bandana. Heck if that won't work use a towel. If that don't work try a comforter off the bed. Sorry, got carried away. I know the wife would never allow me to "carry" a comforter around.

Just had a light bulb go off...if you're in a store, why not just get a plastic bag from checkout or carry your own around?

What I typically do in a stall (whether at work or some other public restroom) is put my gun on top of the toilet paper holder before I drop my drawers - they're typically large enough to lay my gun on top of. Then reholster when I pull up my pants. Seems to work for me.particle wrote:LOL!!! Thanks for posting that. Keep in mind that handguns have been left behind in toilet stalls.
Anytime you remove it from your person, there is a risk of forgetting it.

It's ok, we don't need pictures of you in the restroomRub N Smoke wrote:I also went to WW the other day. I did hit the Mcd's there and basically cruised the rest of the Store. After much thaught I decided to actually hang it on the little hook that most people hang their jackets on. This was ok since I dont quite feel comfortable carring with a round chambered yet. Im not sure what I'll do when I do carry chambered but as for now thats my story. Unfortunately since I was by myself I have no pictures though....
What I usually do, if it is big enough, is just put my gun on top of the toilet paper dispenser. That way it is right next to you. Just make sure you don't accidentally knock it off and have it fall in the ol' commode.

Re: Wally walk stories from April applicants
Joined the ranks of legal carry yesterday and have done several "Wally Walks" today at Home Depot (2X) and Tom Thumb.
I thought I would share a priceless and great story with everyone. I have been blessed to have several kids ranging in age from 16 to 3 and they know that I have been eagerly expecting my CHL and when I got it yesterday they were all very excited. As you might imagine, I have taught them great respect for firearms and that they are, in and of themselves, not good or evil. It is the person using the firearm and how it is used that determines "goodness" or "badness". It is simply a tool that we are legally able to use to defend ourselves against evil people who may wish to do us harm. So yesterday I got everyone together and let them know the behavioral expections of them as we are in public and Dad is carrying. I told them that they can always assume that I will be armed for their protection and they will rarely, if ever actually see the firearm, I have managed a very very good IWB system that absolutely disappears. They were told never to ask about it in public or feel for it because there are people out there who don't have the same feeling that we do about guns and we never want to make people feel uncomfortable or cause any undo alarm.
Fast forward to this afternoon as I am getting ready to run an errand to Home Depot. I am going to take my 3 and 5 year old boys with me. As we are getting ready to walk out the door, it is with great pleasure and pride I look down and see my 3 year old tucking his plastic holster and bright orange dart gun into his waistband saying, "I'll make sure no one see it." It was one of my prouder moments as a Dad!! As we are driving to the Home Depot he says, "Dad, nobody will see it unless he is a bad guy!" I affirmed to him that his thinking was correct. Then as we are walking through the parking lot.... the whole rig slips out of his pant onto the ground! I picked it up, gave him a big hug, put it into my pocket and we went about our business without incident!!! It was a great moment.
Heres to raising the next generation with proper thinking!!!

Hanging it on the hook makes it potentially accessible to someone on the other side of the door (perhaps not a concern where you were, but it is in other areas.) Putting it on the toilet paper dispenser makes it prone to getting knocked off as you maneuver through your duties, with embarrassing (at least) results. Leaving it on the toilet tank (where there is such a thing) makes it prone to being forgotten, because it's behind you and you may well have other things on your mind. (Yes, it can and does happen.)
The best technique I've seen is to place it inside your pulled down drawers in front of you. That way, it's concealed from all directions except from above, accessible only to you, won't be knocked onto the floor, and won't be forgotten. This works for me. YMMV
