I quickly changed and walked outside. Coool! Actually, hot. My cover was a lined flannel shirt, because it was supposed to be cold. I made a couple of stops, shopping for a holster for my Sig and drove right past a Wally World. Well, I have to do it sometime. I am not into eating nachos, so I called my girlfriend and talked on cell and did some shopping. Shopping with a hand cart while talking on a cell is a challenge. Also, walking around with a pistol strapped to your side prevents removing layers of clothing if you are too warm. I was certain someone would see my pistol and call the Law. Well, nothing happened. I made my purchase, walked outside, and drove home without incident.
My first Wally Walk and I learned a lot.
1. Better belt. A 1911 is heavy. I nearly dropped it while threading my belt on.

2. Sitting in a sporty car on a 1911 can be uncomfortable. A 1911 is big and not pliant.
3. I need to try out multiple carry options for both my Sig and my 1911. Thinking one method will be fine without trying it is foolish. Problem is, I dislike shopping.
4. I need to be more thoughtful in my selection of clothing. Removing clothing to cool off without a pistol is a simple act. With a pistol, it can get you arrested.
All that aside, I had a good time. What a great state we live in. I am also grateful to this forum. I learned a lot while waiting for my CHL to arrive. Well, I'll miss you folks in the Waiting Room. I'll stop in now and then to see how things are going. Good luck!
