Well, it wasn't in the mailbox this afternoon. Maybe tomorrow.

I guess I'll add my "wait" to the group......

My wife and I took the test (I'm a long expired previous CHL starting over; wife is new CHL) on Dec 1st. Mailed packets on Monday Dec 3rd. Got "return receipt" indicating they were delivered to DPS on 12/4. A friend took the course with us and mailed at the same time.

In the last few days, maybe about 1/11/2008, the status at the DPS website finally changed from "packet mailed" to "application in process" and it still reads the same. Obviously they must be processing my friend's application now too, although he doesn't have web access, he got a letter saying the DPS rejected his photograph (is that cold or what when a governmental agency rejects your photo?). Anyway, turns out they weren't saying he was ugly, they were saying there was glare on his glasses, and he has to provide a new photo sans the glare and where his eyes are discernable.

So our timeline is:

Applications mailed: 12/3
Applications received: 12/4
Still waiting: 1/18/2008
ARRIVED 2/14/2008.......74 DAYS!

I hope they recognize I'm 65 yrs old and not getting any younger. Anybody know a good source for a wheelchair holster? I may need one by the time this thing comes in......

UPDATE: MINE ARRIVED ON FEB 14. MY WIFE WHO SENT HERS IN AT THE SAME TIME, IS STILL WAITING.

GOOD LUCK EVERYBODY....
