Got my PIN, too.
Whew! Got my PIN in the mail from DPS. At least I know they're working on it now. My application was marked Entered on 19 OCT 2007. (I was mailed off end of September, like around Sept 22nd-23rd so that should tell you something about their backlog); I'm guessing the "60 day" hurdle has only just begun, as of 10/19/07 and doesn't account for when they first physically received my application.
So looks like it may come AFTER Thanksgiving for me after all
Hey, TexasAg93, I'm also an Aggie, Class of 1993, Outfit Trident P-2
HOWDY!
I read somewhere recently that there is a student movement afoot on a lot of college campuses, groups calling themselves "Students for Concealed Carry", and did you know, the largest of these organizations is at good ol' Texas A&M? WHOOP!
Hardly surprising of course, but still cool.
In my dreams, I always thought the Corps of Cadets should be issued service pistols and allowed open carry, but that'd never fly. Except maybe when working Guardroom, and they have to do Escort duty in the wee hrs of the morning...they ought to at least let THOSE dudes concealed carry if they want, y'know? Except that mostly Freshman do the Escort stuff, and they're mostly 18-19 yrs old. Maybe let 'em shoulder a long gun, like a Ruger Mini-14...
