Hello, all!

So far my timeline is as follows....


3/17 Class
4/6 Online app and LTC submission (with criminal background)
4/9 Fingerprints submitted

Nothing has popped up as of yet online.


Pretty clean record, minus one big brain-fart!

In 2012, while travelling in Ohio during Christmas with my family, I had a routine traffic stop in the middle of the day. Officer asked if I had any weapons (wifes car) and mindlessly I said "yessir i have a knife and my wifes pistol in the console"

Felony in OHIO! One day after a Cleveland Police Officer was shot! (Not killed)

Anyhow, given my clean record and my career as both a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic and also an Airline Pilot, it was fully dismissed and I humbly accepted a disorderly conduct ($250 fine) and surrender of my wifes .38 revolver. My safety status with the FAA/TSA as well as my Texas Paramedic were not impacted and remain active today.

No problem.


It has been over 5 years, talking on the phone with DPS they claim that I meet all requirements. I have no other record, whatsoever and not so much as a speeding ticket in over 5 years.

I wonder what my timeline will look like?

timeline is different with everyone. hard to say. a lot has to do with how busy they are i think... turnaround has been quick for some lately and slow for others so its really a toss up. just keep checking their site. and welcome

in my thread i had posted it seemed like a lot of peopel who called/emailed had their app status move along within a few days.... i think theres some merit to it.

carrying IWB with CrossBreed last two days at 7-8 oclock position (lefty) have NOT been carrying one in the chamber yet, until i can get used to everything and make sure i can get pants on and off etc without dropping anything etc.

so far its very uncomfortable and makes my kidneys ache. I will give a week or so and then I may seek an alternative :-(

Take the gun out of the holster before taking off pants, as for uncomfortable, I switched from IWB to OWB I had the same problem but right-handed. Pain is gone now.
