You will have your license soon. The paste is way faster now. I was part of that influx that got out of control.

I was all in on April 25. Submitted my docs and fingerprints on Feb 18, then the CHL 100 April 25.
Just checked the website this morning, and had a status change. That puts my wait right at 29 calendar days.
Now that I just moved, I get to wait for my address to be changed before I get my plastic in hand. Anyone know how long it usually takes for an address change to get processed?

LTC Course: April 2
Fingerprint: April 6
All Docs in: April 7
Status Change: May 24
Plastic in hand: Soonish...

I resisted calling trying to be considerate. I know the people are processing these as quickly as possible and calling them only slows the process. I figured i'd been without one all these years was was another 60+ days.

Wow... That's fast. Under a month. The RSD changes are obviously paying off.

No correspondence has been sent to me as of 5/13/16

I called RSD today and I was told that my application was in progress as of 5/7/16. I was told that it usually takes 30 days after it gets moved to "in progress" status.

No change on the Website status. I still get the same old status.

"LICENSE APPLICATION STATUS: If you have a pending License to Carry a Handgun application, please allow sufficient time for processing. If you have not already done so, please submit all of the items listed on the checklist you received. DPS will notify you by mail if further information or additional documents are required."

Is this what everyone else is getting? :banghead:

Hello all!! I am please to inform yall that I received my Plastic yesterday!!!!

All in date --------------------------- 3/22/16
Confirmation email from RSD ---- 3/22/16
"In Progress" as of ------------------ 5/7/16

Still no change on the "status"

When those appeared, that was your "status" change. It doesn't change the status at the top.

New here :)

Decided to post here since this is my first LTC.

04/18/16- DPS email all documents received
05/26/16- Status Changed (Able to change address and other info online) :txflag: :anamatedbanana

Not sure if that was fast but my local (he has a home business )neighborhood FFL told me I would be getting it fast because of my unique name., let me explain.

Not sure if this is true.

I am hispanic-texan and I have a very unique name: FIRST;MIDDLE;LAST;FAMILY NAME

He said the fact that my name is unique affects the processing time apparently. Every time he runs my name through NCSI it comes back freaking quick.

Multiple FBI/Local criminal background records can be pulled if you happen to have a similar first and last names and that can slow the process since the FBI and local authorities can get overwhelmed with record request.

Any truth to this? Seems like for me.

BTW how long should it take to get to me via snail mail?

I'm irritated! Am I being unreasonable? Tomorrow will be 2 months since I electronically completed my RENEWAL with no changes in status. The website is exactly the same as 2 months ago and since then my permit HAS EXPIRED! How is this NOT infringement? The permit should remain good until the state does their job and if there is a problem, THEN months later, they can send us a note to stop carrying. This infuriates me. WE ARE THE LAW ABIDING! Rant complete.

I think that you are correct about having the less common name. A buddy of mine took an extra couple weeks longer than I did. The major difference I can tell is my name is significantly less common than his. It may not be the ONLY reason, but I have no doubt that it played some part in the time difference.
