This leads me to believe that there is a serious lack of order in the handgun licensing office. Good luck to everyone still waiting!

Re: Ridiculous Timeline
My kids (adult kids) both applied after I did and got their plastic weeks before I did.
I called a few times and got the standard line, which isn't bad advice, which was to wait for the process to have time.
Then, I called and explained how my kids applications sailed right through. I'm admittedly a repeat offender. I had a traffic ticket for something like seven over the speed limit in about 1979 and went and did the same thing in 2013. But other than that crime spree, I'm clean.
The representative took pity and did some checking.
As it turns out, each stage your app goes to basically gets all your paperwork by email attachments, or some similar mechanism. Somewhere along the way, my class completion certificate dropped off the turnip truck. I emailed another PDF scan and had my license in about 5 business days.
I would still be waiting if somebody hadn't looked into specifically why my application stalled.
Good luck!

Re: Ridiculous Timeline
What phone number are you calling to get into contact with a RSD rep? I call the number provided on the website but they have closed the phone lines or something. I get a generic voicemail type answer and it says to email them...We all know how that goes...Been 3 days and no answer to my email either. Any help is appreciated.sooneraggie wrote:So its been 78 days now. Spoke with an RSD rep this morning. She told me that my license has been

So with 14 RSD business days, you should have it by June!
Re: Ridiculous Timeline
I was also told that I was approved, but given the timeframe of 4 more weeks...
I just assume that they have no concept of time at RSD.
or they use dog years...

Re: Ridiculous Timeline
Same timeline my friends:
Online Application December 29
CHL/LTC Class Jan 3.
Fingerprints Jan 4.
Docs submitted by email and email confirmation on Jan. 4.
To date, no status change, no plastic. I do hear crickets though.
It seems those of us who submitted electronically on Jan. 4 got the weak link at RDS. Several friends of mine who took the class with me submitted later, and/or by mail, and already have their plastic. I do have a very clean record.
I have contacted my state representative to address the problem of the randomness. I don't like waiting, but that is not the biggest issue. It's a bit luck of the draw and that is a problem. It takes 15 minutes for me to clear a background check to buy a handgun, but we'll see how long for my "license to carry." My rep is in favor of removing the process altogether or at least just adding a notation to the driver's license.
I am glad for those who are getting their licenses though! Stay safe!

Finally got plastic in the mail today! This occurred 4 days after status change. All together 82 days. Document confirmation 1/4 and plastic 3/26.
