Watch your status change over the next day or two & or your plastic comes in. Hang in there!
It's coming buddy.
I appreciate your optimism. I'll share it when my plastic is in hand.
I feel the same. The girl on the phone said it was approved, but I don't have it yet and it doesn't say it online. I'll believe it when I see it. My pessimistic self says she was lying to get me off the phone LOL

Out of here...someone else can have my seat!
According to the timeanddate.com website today is the 41st "business day" in 2016.
A whole lotta frustration on some members of this site would be alleviated if you went by business days from the date all correct items have been submitted to RSD.
Then, don't forget if needed there is an up to 180 day provision too.
Personally, with everything the RSD is required to check on each individual applicant I think they are doing a great job in an historically high application period.

The frustration lies in the fact that there are people who have been approved with submission dates a month after mine and others, not with the wait itself.
Personally, if there was any semblance of order or common sense to the process, I think a lot of the frustration would be lessened. There is literally nothing to find in my BG check and here I wait... As others have mentioned, we paid for a service. There is no accountability to be had once our payment is made.

BINGO!!! I was cool until I saw 4-5 people who submitted well after me getting plastic. Really PO'd when told on day 68 RSD hasn't even looked at mine.

Will you please post your timeline including the last date all required items were received in Austin. The point I am making (100% accurate application and 60 business days to issue) and the trajectory we are on are not the same, so to speak.
If you knew the people you are making assumptions about you would walk your words back. Obviously you don't. I've yet to see one qualified applicant fail to receive their LTC.

16Adams why do you take it so personally? Do you have a vested interest in RDS/DPS? Just curious The area is a place for people to vent. All people need a place to vent or it builds like steam in a kettle. If you don't vent off the pressure then the kettle explodes. Venting is a lot healthier than bottling it all up.
Search Texas 411.172 and observe what each individual applicant is being investigated. It's a very extensive investigatory list.
I actually understand the "I want it now", but I don't understand nameless ill informed slams on people's integrity.
When you take the time to look at the big picture on the applicants part and everything they must do correctly, the investigation and everything that must be accurate- the approval printing and mailing- maybe you can see why it takes a while- and there is no way the investigations can advance as a group.
I'm going to continue to calmly and reasonably point out my observations, mainly because if you are qualified- and get thru it your LTC will arrive. And it's an investigation you should be quite proud of to survive.
I've got no response for the I paid for it I want it now. You applied and paid for a thorough screening of your life- and you are getting it.
I read that just this morning. As I mentioned, I have no problem whatsoever waiting. I don't have a problem with people getting approved who are a few days to a week after me being approved.
I do have a problem with people a month after me being approved and the only answer I can get is "oh you're way too early". If they were able to provide any kind of legitimate explanation as to why this is the case then I'd buy it. As it stands now the phone number to contact for "more info" doesn't really give you more info.
It's interesting to see people post That they went thru an FBI background check at work and think that helps speed the process. DPS has a list outlined by law that they are going to follow (think checklists and flowcharts). I'm guessing nowhere does the flow chart go straight to print because of this
:-)). They are going to check everything required by law before an LTC is approved printed and mailed- not earlier.
My timeline went like application 11-4-2015 and plastic in hand 1-29-2016.
I'm at 77 days from my confirmation email today, and one week from tomorrow will be 60 business days. We'll see if I have my card in hand between now and then. I sure hope I do, but I remain extremely skeptical of this whole process.
