Never recieved confirmation email?

#1

Post by jaystekan »

So, I need some advice. I called DPS today to check my status. My prints are there, but the lady said there were no additional documents attached to them, meaning, my CHL-100, and my other documents needed were never recieved or logged in. SO, I did my prints a while back, mailed in my additional documents, CHL100, and my passport photos(I have an out of state license), sent them priority mail on Sep 22nd. I am not expecting my CHL any time soon, I am in no hurry. My question is: If I mailed my supporting documents priority mail on the 22nd of Sep, shouldn't they at least be attached to my prints by now? I called DPS, they have no record of recieving my supporting documents, and I never recieved a confirmation email. At what point does everyone think I should mail in a new set of supporting documents? The lady on the phone said it could take 8 weeks. I understand that, but after a month, no confirmation email of documents recieved has me worrying it got lost in the mail. I don't want to send in new documents and mess up the system, confuse people there, but I don't want to sit on my hands if the documents were lost in the mail. So...If it were you, would you wait it out before sending in new documents, or should I go ahead and mail in a new set? Unfortunately since I need to send in passport photos,as far as I know, I can't use a scanner and email them.

I called and was told the CHL-100 I had submitted electronically two weeks prior was not in the system. A week later, I called and had already been approved.

Evidently, even electronic forms get scanned in from the wording that was used.

All that to say, I wouldn't worry yet. 30 days is rapidly approaching for you. I would be tempted to call once a week after that though.
May we never haver to draw but always be prepared.

I would call them back every other day or so until they either find the CHL-100 form or ask you to resubmit it.

If you resubmit it. I would recommend scanning it as a .PDF file and submitting it in the online form.

I submitted mine in the online form on 9/29 and got an automated confirmation email on 10/1. I called the DPS on 10/19 for a status update and they said "we have your fingerprints on file, but when did you submit your training certificate." I was able to reply that I submitted it on 9/29 and received email confirmation on 10/1. Then they put me on hold for 5 minutes and came back stating that all of my documentation was complete.

I called two weeks after my paperwork was submitted and was told that they didn't have my CHL100. I was put on hold and they found it five minutes later. It appears to be a common problem.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. Tomorrow will be exactly a month, which I normally would not be worried about, not getting an email saying they at least have my documents, has me paranoid that something went wrong. Oh well, nothing to do but keep waiting.
