"Too many connections"...I wonder if someone is running a DDoS attack against the forum. Right now, I wouldn't be surprised.

I've been getting the same errors. I imagine it's not common for the site to get DDoS'd, plenty of websites have set up some line of defense against those types of attacks.
I don't know much about the capacity of the servers that the forum is hosted on. We're still getting through here and there, so it isn't that bad, but all of our refreshing to get the page loaded is probably only making matters worse.

It wouldn't be the first DOS attack if that is what is going on.

I'm seeing the errors too. Also, the forum is responding very slowly, when it does work.

Just received message again.
Note: When scroll down and see the registered users, I see Bing(Bot), Google((Bot), MSNBC(Bot) and Yahoo(Bot).
Not sure what those are. Anyone know?

Ever wonder how search engines know about the content of a site? They use a Web crawler, also known as a bot or spider. phpBB (the forum software) comes pre-loaded with configuration for the most common spiders, such as Google [Bot] and Bing [Bot]. When they are visiting they'll show up as Registered Users who are browsing the forum.
The Mods are aware of the errors and slow response and are investigating.

Do we have a robots.txt file setup to tell the search engine bots how to crawl without causing problems?

Yep, pretty much all day long; however, I'm confident that it will get fixed in due course.
