We have a relatively new Dell laptop computer at home with Vista Home Premium and IE 7.

I have tried to change whatever needs changing but I have to log in every session AND (durnit) the chat feature does not work. This forum is the only forum I have this problem with.

It works fine on my work computer that recently was upgraded to IE7 but on the Windows XP Professional system.

I know, I have called some of you guys geeks before. I **cough** apologize.

Can someone help me? Please?

Try loading the Firefox web browser. Its more secure and easier to use than IE7, and it works great with the forum. Most of us gee...computer dudes use it all the time.

IE7 seems like something the dinosaurs used.

I second the FF recommendation. Plus it will tell you immediately whether or not the browser is the problem.

If you ever find adblock that is available for FireFox you will be really mad you didn't find it sooner.

I also use Firefox, but I think this an answer for you.

At the top of IE7:
click Tools
Click Internet Options
click Privacy
drag or click the slider to "low"
Then click apply, and OK.

For the chat feature I think you need a Java download, or Flashplayer. But I can't call it for sure.
I normally look for both anyway. They are both free
Flash player at http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Java download at http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
