I try to keep the loading equipment clean and orderly Sooooooooooooo, I always empty the Dillon spent primer can into zip-loc bags and then when the bags are full I can trash them without a spill. Well, my Bassett Hound decided a that a full zip-loc bag would make a fine toy................ Ever see 4000 spent primers loose on the floor? I have.
My wife was NOT amused.

Is the dog, by chance, named 'Flash' or 'Sparky'?

I am collecting mine in an 8 pound plastic powder jug--just because. I am fascinated by the thought of how many it will take to fill it up. It is about 4/5ths full at this time.

I guess I do not understand... Why would you want to keep the spent primers any way? Spent brass... Yes. Spent primers...
Primers are brass also. I once saved a peanut butter jar full and got $10 for it at the recycling center!

I use to have a dog like that..They are tough, Your's is super tough..!!
On saving the spent primers......I always save all of them.
I took a bunch of misc. trashed brass and spent primers to a local salvage yard.
The guy there asked what the primers were, I told him they were spent and if he wouldn't take them I'd keep them.
He pulled out his small pocket magnet and checked them and said "Brass is Brass"..!!! (It was listed as Cartridge Brass )
Don't remember how many pounds...YES Pounds of primers, but the total was NICE $$$$ This was about 3 years ago.
Had enough from that to buy more NEW primers and powder...
Even most 209 primers have a brass primer with a steel (carrier..can't remember true name right now )
But you must be very bored to separate the two....I've done it several times to waste some time.
Even made a small jig to set them on a single stage press and use a universal deprime die with.
It made it go very fast.
I know....I know...But sometimes you do dumb things in slack times.

I would say "Bonne Appetite" for your dog. Either he was very hungry or very bored or both.
