Y'all propably already know but Petsmart sells crushed walnut for bird and reptile cages for 22 dollars for a 25lb bag and it works great. It's cheaper than regular media and I don't have to drive all over looking for it. Just my 2 cents worth. :fire

with out knowing a whole lot about reloading , I can tell you that they use crushed walnut in sandblasting thinner materials.

so yeah... take from that what you will.

If you have a Russell feed store nearby, they sell the crushed walnut for a little less than Petsmart - the downside is that there's so much stuff in their stores that I NEVER walk out with just what I went in to buy.

I like the Zilla brand. Other bulk suppliers of walnut media seems to have a problem with excessive dust. The Zilla ground english walnut shells has an almost dustless media that is in a very fine grit that does not clog up into small cases like 223's. It is like sugar sand.

Amazon has a 31.5 lb bag (25 qt) for $15.99, delivered to your door for $22.00.

The wife got a 25lb bag for some projects she is doing. Since my corn cob stuff is wearing out, I latched onto some it it. ;-)
