I have a jug of powder that's been in my attic since May 2008. Is it still good to use for reloading?
(I have a reloading bench again!)

ETA: Can I store brass that has a new primer in it in the garage, or do I need to store it in the house with the finished ammunition?

(In my last house, the reloading bench was set up in my laundry room, so everything was climate controlled.)

I'm reloading .380, 9mm, .38 Spec., and .45 acp with Green Dot and 700-X that was purchased some 15 years ago when I was a shotgun shooter - without mishap. I've still got all of my fingers and eyes. BTW, like your old MT's, the price was a lot less back then, a whole lot less.

Yes to both. Powder gets weaker as it deteriorates so do primers. I store both my powder and primers in an uncontrolled workshop and have never had a problem.

Check the powder give it the sniff test - - - does it have an acrid odor? If so don't use it. Give it the eyeball test - - - does it have a rusty look? If so don't use it. Give it the shoot test - - - load a couple of rounds and test fire them. Does it go boom and kick like it should? Use it.

2008 shouldn't be a problem at all. I occasionally use powder that is over 10 years old and it's fine. I do see if it smells like acid and visually inspect it though.
