When I placed the order it said they would be available March 23, so I guess their order either got pushed back, or they did not receive enough to ship ours.

I am thinking that anything less than 12 months is a win. :thumbs2:

I ordered 10,000 Winchester primers from Cabelas in March, 2009 and they were shipped May 2010.

The primers still show as being on backorder. Currently they show no information on when they will be available :grumble

Grrr. I'd be more upset about this if i hadn't just found 1200 of them at Bass Pro the other day. Oh well it'll be a nice surprise when they do come in...

I still have plenty of powder and primers, so I am quite patient.

Yeah, I guess I was just foolishly optimistic about when all of the stuff would be arriving. I traded my AR and was just ordering some different powders to develop new loads for my .270 and my father's .257, so I'm not in any hurry to get the stuff. I feel more grief that all of you guys have to wait longer.

That is why I said on the first page, that I fully expect any group buy to take about a year. If it is any sooner than that, I will be happy to become pleasantly surprised.

LONEST4R,

I've got 4k of small pistol primers on my shelf, unopened, that I'm not likely to use any time soon. What if you buy those from me, and pull the equivalent off of the group buy to shake loose the delivery?

The original order had $62 shipping cost for $647 in product.

Then $151 in powder was removed, so now we have only $496 in product.

If you now remove $154 in primers, we have only $341 in product.

The point of a group buy is to minimize shipping costs (with Hazmat) as a percent of total cost. The shipping cost will certainly go down slightly with the reduced weight, but removing additional product from the group buy is going to definitely reduce the utility of doing this as a group buy at all.

Right now, my purchases represent over 50% of the group buy total. I am quite willing to wait for the primers.

I will keep the order as it stands right now, I think. I am already absorbing any difference in shipping and hazmat with the removal of my varget powder, but I can call them tomorrow and inquire if they have any idea when things will be moving along. I do apologize for my misguided optimism at the beginning of this process and any hand wrenching or obsessive forum checking it may have caused participants. I am struggling to stay patient along with the rest of you.

I am quite grateful that you took on a thankless task. I am also quite patient and not blaming you for the fact the market is nuts.

Just about the time we completely give up on this is probably about the time it will ship.

Once you get it, if there is a couple bucks difference in shipping or Hazmat, let me know. I am quite happy to forward along. I have no desire for you to eat any costs - running the group buy is thankless enough.
