Great consistency... SD under 7 is awesome! Well done!

Have you tried lil' gun? From hodgdon's data, it looks like a great powder for .300 BLK.

Im really excited account CFE BLK in the 7.62x40. I'm also going to try to see if I can get a 220 RN seated in the same chamber and subsonic. It won't cycle my carbine gas, but I'll turn the gas off if I can get subs going anyway.

Re: What Did You Do In The Reloading Room This Week?
A minor caution to you on Lil Gun... while researching 45 Raptor, it was mentioned a number of times that Lil Gun is much faster burning than the original and earlier runs of it... so much different that it is no longer recommended in that caliber. Obviously 300blk and 45 raptor are different animals but the warning on Lil Gun is still worth heeding. Start lower than normal and work up more carefully than you might otherwise.AndyC wrote:Baby steps so far - I have L'il Gun and CFE BLK to try soon and I'll be charting them.

New guy - first post. I try to do something every week with respect to reloading even if it's just a little bit. Recently started reloading .380 ACP and I was fortunate that my first recipe was the "perfect" one. I will finish reloading about 4,000 rounds this week which will give me a solid inventory for about 3 months of shooting.

I loaded some 70rds of 40SW for SVI 40. I completed 5 pigeon clay holders for the 500 yards range.

Re: What Did You Do In The Reloading Room This Week?
Unloaded some 50 rds of 243 87gr V-max and I got this puzzle to slove
I am puzzled and I need a bit of help.
I made a load for my
Sako 243 Winchester 24" Barrel 1:10
35.7gr Varget under Hornady 87gr V-max
Winchester Case
S&B LR primer
COAL 2.590"
Minimum Load and MV
Hodgdon : 34.3 @ 2997 fps
Lee : 34gr @ 2964 fps
Berger : 35gr @ 2782 fps
In 94 F heat, the trued velocity (dope corrected) at 300 yards is
2644 fps
I am puzzled and the only explanation is that the claimed G1 BC 0.400 is bogus
Update: Litz BC G1 is 0.382 and G7 0.196. With those BCs MV is estimated at 2700 fps too low to be true.
