And why was it loaded? Was it her rifle or his, why did he not clear it? And why was it pointed at him?

A phone found at the scene contained video of Allen and King arguing 16 minutes before the 911 call was made. "Based on what the video shows the argument between the two is about them both cheating on each other and justification for doing so," detectives wrote in the affidavit.
The Mossberg .22 caliber rifle determined to be the gun that killed Allen was shown to have a 5-pound trigger pull and was working properly, according to the affidavit.

One is forced to wonder why the alleged assailant is wearing a surgical mask. In addition, when did a Mossberg .22 become an "assault rifle"?

She may be a spitter or could have tb. The mask is for the jail staff.
...and everything is an assault rifle these days. Heck, I've got a cheap plastic stock the government is telling me is a machine gun.

I suspect the story's writer, Tulsi Kamath
https://www.tulsikamath.com/, can't distinguish between a BB gun and a SAW.

Maybe it has been edited, but I didn't see "assault rifle" in the story...

In the second article it appears the defendant called it an assault rifle. She made a statement and that statement is in quotes. The term assault rifle is within those quotes.
I don't think its the author of the article calling it an assault rifle.

Second article ,
https://www.kxan.com/news/local/austin ... 703353287 :
King told officers, "she had the rifle pointed towards Eric and that the assault rifle 'went off,'" officials wrote in an affidavit filed in court. "Autumn said that Eric dropped to the ground, but Autumn thought that Eric was 'playing,' and she told him to get up."

This story has so much "stupid" in it.
She barely touched the trigger, says the shooter. Well, I guess idiots don't know that the trigger is the item to keep your mitts off.
Young people who have not grown up with The Four Rules think it's cool to take photos of themselves or others looking down the barrel.
Using a loaded firearm for the photo, and not indexing, is the reason this happened.
Do we think this death is a tragic negligent discharge, or is she using her story as an excuse for murdering her boyfriend after an argument?
