What an idiot. Here is the way to not shoot yourself:

1. Unload weapon. Verify weapon is unloaded.
2. Practice drawing. Hundreds of times. Practice proper indexing while drawing. Dont put finger on trigger. Dont. Dont.
3. Insert snap caps into mag. Keep practicing.
4. After several hundred dry draws, and several hundred snap cap draws, go to range.

I'm willin to bet he does'nt do that again. Hard way to learn a lesson, but may many learn from his mistake.
