Scenario 1: They open unlocked door and locked it when done spiffing your guns.
Scenario 2: They have cloned your wireless key fob if you have one, opened the door and locked it when done spiffing your guns.

Did the police came and lifted fingerprints? I guess not, since this is a property theft.

I locked my keys in my truck once and called a tow truck to come get me in. He put some kind of wedge thing in the rain gutter area on the top of the door and was able to get it open enough to slip this other thing in he could pump up. He pumped it up a bit to create about a 0.5 inch gap in the top corner of my door and then slid a rod inside and unlocked the doors. The whole process took about a minute, but he wasn't in a hurry. The alarm did go off and I disabled it with the remote once inside. No damage to my truck door at all!

Sorry about your two Glocks!!!

I'm sorry this happened to you. :mad5

I was asking the OP. Assuming the truck wasn't unlocked, knowing what type it is may help determine how they were able to get in.

Look for a small hole just under the bottom of the plastic surrounding the door handle. See the picture on this page for an example: http://www.jimmijammer.com/JJ%20descrip ... 113200.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I also have a Ford truck that was broken into a few years ago using this method.

Sounds like he used a BigEasy:
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

They're about $30 and can be bought online by anyone. I have one and it's about as easy as it gets to unlock vehicles.

Yup, I have a Ford Excursion. Somebody showed me how easy it is to break into one (not a thief, just somebody that an experienced car security installer). Locks on your car door do no more for your security than the lock on your front door -- easily defeated by a determined thief. People find my behavior odd when I'm transporting my guns to/from the range -- I won't stop ANYWHERE that requires I park and leave my vehicle with unsecured guns hidden inside, even if it's in "plain sight". I've seen videos of how thieves can be in and out of a car in less than 10 seconds.

Homeowner/renter's insurance?

All of my guns/optics/high value items are insured through USAA. Having all of that, plus the fiance's rock, it costs me about $13/month on top of my car insurance. I also have a $2K miscellaneous jewelry rider that covers any jewelry, that isn't specifically listed.

Might check into something similar with your carrier. I didn't used to carry as much coverage but after taking umpteen billion burglary reports, short of living in a bunker, it can pretty much happen to anyone.

I've used ham antennas to get into my wife's car and a few others to retrieve locked-in keys. Same process; make a gap big enough to get a long object in that's stiff enough to either hook a lock or press the unlock button. Some aftermarket mods also leave one or more power windows energized with the key off, and window buttons are very easy to hit with the antenna.
