CARJACKED!

My maid's husband got carjacked in front of their home. Two big gangstas hid in the bushes in front of his home and jumped him with guns pointed at his head as he was leaving the front door to his home. They got away with about $600 in cash and also stole his van. I want to tell him to get a gun, but I can't because I don't want to advertise that I have a CHL. My maid has a really big mouth, loves to exaggerate, and embellish. If I tell her I have a CHL, she'll probably tell everyone in town that I'm a mercenary gun nut who loves to shoot people while wearing a cape and red underwear outside my pants. Maybe I should just write my maid and her husband an anonymous letter suggesting that they get a CHL. What do you think I should do, guys?
Keep your guard up, especially in parking lots.

How does your "maid" not know you have guns?

Tell him but don't mention you have a CHL.
Tell him about the MPA and the right to have firearms in your house. You might mention that he can carry a firearm to and from his car directly from the house.
I don't see a problem here.

He's a grownup. Let him make his own decisions.

So, did
she tell you about her husband getting robbed, or did her husband tell you about it?

"Two big gangstas hid in the bushes in front of his home and jumped him with guns pointed at his head as he was leaving the front door to his home."
Would a CHL (carrying) help here? Could someone typically react quickly enough for this? We probably need more info.

Two men with drawn guns against someone who has a concealed holstered weapon who would have to draw and fight from within a confined space.... Sounds like a winning scenario to me! To avoid these types of problems he should seriously rethink where and how he parks/stops his vehicle, pay more attention to his surroundings, and then start looking for a way to win an encounter when he has a better grip on the situation.

I would mind my own business. If being robbed motivates him to take measures to provide for his own safety, that's good. If it doesn't, that's his choice and his right to make that choice.
I would give advice to someone who asked for advice, but it dioesn't sound like he has.

Unfortunately G., many BG's that use guns to commit their crime are only too willing to just shoot you whether you comply or not to try and keep from being identified later. There are also stories all over the place where someone was able to survive and win a battle when the BG already had the gun drawn. Faced with probable death, I'm not going to take it without a fight.

C-dub: You are missing my point. My point is that there are better measures to take to prevent being in the situation prior to getting ready to place ones self in the same situation again. I assure you that I do not go into convenience stores where the clerk can not be seen, or where someone is wearing a duster/trench coat in 100+ degree weather. For that reason I do not park my vehicle near materials (natural or man made) that can conceal someone nor do I have such concealments around my front door. The objective is to AVOID being in the situation in the first place before fighting your way out of it.

Sorry. Absolutely. I was only referring the first sentence of your post.
