Lucky Day

Well, today must be my lucky day.
After showering, shaving and getting ready for work this morning I went to move the pants that I'd been wearing the night before to the laundry bin. Just when I picked them up I felt the resistance and saw my Taurus PT111 (bought new last year) start to fall out of the IWB holster I had neglected to remove from my belt before/after undressing for bed last night. Trust me... it all seemed to happen in slow motion. I had the sense enough not to grab for it... and could only watch as the muzzle turned right towards my face as the butt of the gun hit the carpeted floor. There was a click... and then nothing but me cussing and my wife asking what was wrong.
I tried not to let her know the extent of what could have just happened and changed the subject quickly.
On my drive to work this morning all I could do was keep mulling the possibilities over and over. What if it had gone off? What if my wife had moved my pants and it had fallen out of the holster? What if??????
If there's one thing I've learned; my carry weapon will from now until the end of time be stowed properly before I go to bed (I have a bedroom defensive gun as well as my carry so no problem there). A very very valuable lesson.
BTW there was one in the chamber (Corbon Powerball ) and the safety was off. Apparently Taurus has fixed the problem they had with this gun (Goggle: Taurus PT111 dropped gun lawsuit)... either that or this really is my lucky day.
