Good information. We been Blessed over the years and not had any issues.
I 'm just an Ole Sinner saved by Grace and Smith & Wesson.

I just use a couple of cheap wood door shimes. I tap them under the door to wedge it shut.

Street Smarts, Firearms, and Personal Security by Jim Grover.
I don't get anything from the sale of this book, although I know and have trained with Kelly. I highly recommend it.
It has a section on traveling, etc.

Re: KEEP THE LATCH LATCHED ON YOUR HOTEL DOOR!
I have had a maid let me into my room when I went downstairs and forgot my key in the room on trips and have also been given a key to an already occupied room. Until now entering an occupied room bothered me more than being allowed into a room by the maid. I can certainly see where a maid should never allow anyone into a room at anytime. This situation definitely makes you think about the what ifs.

As was mentioned earlier
Youtube has a video that shows a carabiner and a zip tie are all you need to enter a locked and latched hotel room
Zip tie defeats the swing latch and the carabiner defeats the chain.
Both happen quickly with no force
