Let's blame the correct person here. It wasn't our fellow forum member's fault that the
camper near him was a low life who assaulted the girl.

Let's not blame the good guy just because he has now lived through this entire ordeal,
and shared it with us.

You don't know how something's going to turn out before it happens.

I think the situation was handled correctly. No one got hurt and the LEO's eventually
brought the idiots to the pokey. No shots fired. Nothing to see here. Move along.

I may have missed this part, but did you make sure that the girl was actually alright? I think that would have been the most important part to discuss with the police.

I would like to commend you for being willing to stop a rape. Your CHL does not make you a cop, but being a good guy makes you someone who will not stand by while a girl is raped. When the girl screamed, he may well have been trying to start a rape and her screams changed his mind only because he knew others nearby could hear them and might come to her aid. We have become more and more a nation of people who stand by while others are victims of violent crime, but this encourages criminals. We fear being hurt, being sued, being arrested. I am not advocating we all become vigilantes. It's just that in the event someone is being attacked right now, then minding your own business or waiting for police while that person continues to be raped, beaten, or even killed is morally wrong.
