Post by The Badger531 »

Well tonight i was in Wally World with my Girlfriend Sherri and i was kinda warm so i thought i'd take off my flannel Shirt but i had to untuck my other shirt so as i started to untuck my shirt i grabbed my Holster which had my Bersa 380 in it & i grabbed my shirt and started to pull out my shirt (making sure i had a firm hold on my holster and my 380)and as i got close to my 380 i grabbed the shirt the wrong way and THUDDD it happend...my 380 tumbled out of the holster and hit the floorso i as fast as i could have grabbed the Weapon and placed it back in the holster ( as a kid was just comming around the corner) i dont think he saw me placing my Weapon back in the holster but i tell ya it really rattled me as i was expecting to have the cops called by a walmart employee but it didn't happen..thank god

Winter always wear a warm coat or jacket for outside OVER your cover garment. Get inside & you can take it off, put in buggy, on back of chair at restarant,...
You were very fortunate. No discharge, no gun damage, no explaining to LEOs.

Rule #4 applies to this too.

1. Quality gear
2. Put it on
3. Cover it up
4. LEAVE IT ALONE.

Then nobody knows.
Glad all things turned out all right.

When something like that happens...leave.

Sure, it's inconvenient, but chancing the police, the explanation, the possible ride to jail, the handcuffs, the embarrassment...

Not to mention the "cameras" catch almost everything. Leaving is probably the smartest thing you can do.

After all there is a Wal Mart on ever corner. :banghead:

I respectfully disagree. I would not want the police trying to hunt me down if someone reported it. You will have a much harder time explaining why you left.

I would prefer to explain that it was a 'wardrobe malfunction' and the display of the firearm was totally unintentional. As the OP stated, he doesn't even think anyone saw him. Even so, if you don't act nervous or scared and just nonchalantly place your gun back in the holster, cover it and go about your musiness, most folks will not get wary of you.

Gotta go with you on this one.
Why Run? Only the guilty run. Now if wal mart asks you to leave, get out of there. But if they say we called the Cops, say "Not a problem, I'll be happy to talk to them, do you want to wait here or somewhere else?"

"wardrobe malfunction"...

Now that has worked before, on quite a different scale...

I believe that should work in cases like this...

And for the record, I don't leave, or run, because of some malfunction...

I am a reasonable law-abiding citizen, that makes reasonable efforts to remain reasonably concealed...

We are all reasonable... :thumbs2:

Phew, scary. Glad it turned out ok for you The Badger531.

Situational awareness. A quick trip to the bathroom to shed the clothing in private would be in order. That way you don't have to disrobe in public.

I dropped my CZ75D out of an inside pocket (still in pocket holster) of my motorcycle jacket onto the floor of the parking garage at work once. Luckily no body was around to see but that was simply the luck of the draw (no pun intended). I had forgotten to zipper the pocket closed and when I removed the jacket the pistol came flopping out. I thought I was being careful before, but I'm much more careful now.

I was in a hurry and had to go to Wally World one night, so I threw on a leather jacket and dropped my CCW in the inside breast pocket. I am standing in the check out line with the...um...items I was sent for when the kid (about 4 or 5) in the cart in front of me looks right at me and says "I see a gun." I had a momentary palpitation and glanced down, nope it wasn't open and it wasn't printing. So I just looked at him like he was an idiot. Mom ignored the whole thing and when they left I step up to the cashier and look to the left, there were little cap guns on the end cap. Evidently he was "telling" me, not telling on me. It's amazing where the mind goes sometimes.
