I can take you back to the early 60's when us kids had our pistol on out hips and drove our Dad's truck into town....
no license for any of the above.....this isn't new to me...
I think the "excitement" is not about carrying a gun...it is getting through the bureaucracy.... don't confuse the two.

I agree, Sarge. When the current CHL's began being issued in 1996, I heard about it, but didn't pay it much attention. A few years later is when I got the fever. After filling out the online app, taking the class and then having to endure the wait (it was only about 90 days in late '07 to early '08).
