No More Shipping Firearms

I am not sure where you gathered this information, but if in the document you posted on page 1,you were referring to the following statement, you neglected to view the exceptions! :)

Exceptions:
(1) Firearms (Shipper is responsible for compliance to local, state and federal laws). The
packaging must not be marked, labeled or otherwise identify as containing a firearm. Drop box
services are prohibited on shipments containing firearms.
a. Licensee to licensee
b. Licensee to consumer
c. Consumer to licensee

It's nice that manufacturers and dealers can use LSO but there's no exception for individual to individual which is what we were talking about.

Like I said in my previous post, I don't believe that is our policy..I am pretty sure we ship person to person....I will call some folks on that tomorrow. The document that that was quoted from appears to be from the state of Texas and not LSO.

Even if it isn't our current policy, I may be able to have it changed to suit Federal and State laws, especially given the interest here!

We can not under any circumstances accept consumer to consumer shipments.

However, you can ship using our ground service and an FFL on either end, and a 5 lb box should only be around $5.00. Any it will still get there by end of next business day. Even with $10-$25 in FFL fees, that's still much cheaper than using UPS!

Sorry I can't do more right now. Wish I could help more, but at least we are clear here that you can ship firearms using LSO, and it will probably save you money. Try us out sometime, we are about half of the other carriers in TX, and parts of OK, LA, and NM and would very much appreciate your business!

You might even find and FFL in Houston to receive it and not charge a transfer fee.

I work at a gun store in New Mexico. We charge a $50 fee to receive guns for people. (Yeah, I know that's a bit high.)
BUT, if a person is just having his own guns shipped in from somewhere, we charge NO FEE IF HE PICKS THEM UP THE SAME DAY WE RECEIVE THEM. If they do not stay in the store overnight, we do not have to log them in and out and do not have to do a 4473 form for him to pick them up.
Some guy was in the store recently and wants to have his guns shipped from Alaska. No problem. No charge. But if they stay in the store overnight, he'll have to pay the fee on each gun, which will be expensive since he's having like seven guns shipped in.

And we have discussed why this is a bad thing.

Had your P3AT been lost or damaged in transit, it would become obvious that you did not adhere to the shipper's rules and you have no chance of collecting on your loss. I have sent several Kel-tecs back. They never asked me to do this and always offered to reimburse the next day air shipping.

(B8) May a nonlicensee ship a firearm by common or contract carrier?

A nonlicensee may ship a firearm by a common or contract carrier to a resident of his or her own State or to a licensee in any State. A common or contract carrier must be used to ship a handgun. In addition, Federal law requires that the carrier be notified that the shipment contains a firearm and prohibits common or contract carriers from requiring or causing any label to be placed on any package indicating that it contains a firearm.

I have shipped via UPS overnight to family with no issue.
You can also ship it via An Airlines freight services from airport to airport
