Helping to keep Texas #1
The ATF's 2019 Annual Statistical Update shows that by a long way Texas is #1 in the nation for registered NFA silencers. Texas has 330,806 out of a national total of 1,750,433 registered silencers.
I got started doing my part to keep Texas in front.
After reading AndyC's posts and reviewing ARFCOM Form 1 Suppressor forum I filed an eForm 1 and got ATF approval.
Thank you AndyC!

Re: Helping to keep Texas #1
Very nice! I need to bite the bullet and buy a .22 Suppressor. If I had done that a year ago I would have it already.
I guess I'm having a really hard time coming to grips with the fact that I need to pay the Feds $200 and then wait almost a year for permission to own a tube of metal that isn't even a firearm.

You paid more in tax stamps than I did for my first registered machine gun in 2002.

Re: Helping to keep Texas #1
It took me a while too regarding all the hoops and $200 tax stamp... but today with ATF eForm 1 and companies like quietbore the wait is more like 30 days. Realistically setting up a Trust and figuring out how eForms works can take another month... but your still much faster than the sad souls waiting over a year for a Form 4 approval.SQLGeek wrote: ↑Sat Sep 12, 2020 9:38 pm Very nice! Re: Helping to keep Texas #1
eFORM 1 for a .45 silencer got approved this week.
Drilling was a bit more involved than the .22, as the single steel baffle was tougher than drilling aluminum. It performed very well on the range.
Currently Quietbore is only selling their solvent traps with an approved Form 1.
Trying to post a photo, but attachments are not working at the moment.

Re: Helping to keep Texas #1
If your model name is on the ATF list, and you get your fingerprint cards off quickly, they have been coming back in around 30 days. Model: NA is on the list, so you don't have to actually pick a name. If your model name isn't on the list, add another 7-to-30 days.

this thread makes the Christmas wish list easier
a suppressor for a 308, may take some shopping around, would make taking hogs easier
