NRA Ruger SR1911, red frame & grips, Davidson's only.
Yesterday I received my NRA "America's 1st Freedom" magazine.
On the inside back cover they had, IMHO, the most awesome 1911 for sale.
It is a RED Ruger SR1911, 5" barrel, .45 ACP. The slide is black, and is engraved
with the 2nd Amendment. The frame is bright red and the grips are also red, and engraved with
"NRA". The serial number is prefixed with "NRA".
This is being sold exclusively through Davidson's Gallery of Guns.
I went to their site to find out the price: $1,039.
It also states "This item is currently allocated."
I don't know if that means they are all spoken for, or if they are going to release them for sale
sometime later.
This to me would be quite the BBQ gun.

The full page ad in the magazine is more impressive than the above link, but at least
you get the idea.

I clicked on the little question mark just below that statement. Here's what opened:surprise_i'm_armed wrote: This is being sold exclusively through Davidson's Gallery of Guns.

What does "Allocated" mean?
An allocated item is one where the demand for it far out steps the supply of an item, therefore enabling Davidson’s to sell all receipts of the item in less than a week
and many times in a matter of hours.
This item is unavailable to order online at this time. Please contact your local retailer for availability.
Agree - it would make quite a nice BBQ gun!

Allocated means that they expect to not have enough supply to meet expected demand. The will allocate stock to their salesman who allocate to dealers. The salesman will normally sell to their buyers that spend the most with them first (makes sense since they get paid commission by sales) and work their way down to the little guys.

To each his own. I think it’s an ugly gun.

Not my cup of tea.FAAPOD wrote:To each his own. I think it’s an ugly gun.
In the spirit of 2A themed guns, I prefer this one (although you need to find one used since they are no longer in production).
