45ACP Score at Walmart!

A couple buddies and I hit up Wally World before heading to the range. I picked up two 100 shell boxes of Federal 12ga at $16.97 each and asked for a box of 100rd WWB 45ACP. He rang up everything at the total showed $39.86.
I was like hmm.....I asked him if he got all three boxes and he confirmed he did. I asked what each rang up at and he said $16.97 for each shotgun ammo box and $2.89 for the pistol ammo. Then he added 'oh and tax is on there' like I was stunned it was more expensive than I thought.
I played it calm and asked for the last 3 boxes of WWB 45 and finished the sale. I walked out the door with the biggest smile on my face.
I just purchased 200 shells of Federal 12ga and 400 WWB 45ACP rounds for $49.25 out the door.
I then drove to the next Walmart only to find that the 100 WWB ammo there was priced at $28.98. Just a few weeks ago it was $26 something.
Today was a great day!!! Scored a deal on ammo and spend the day at the shooting range.

I have to comment once more. This was obvious and error in pricing.
I would have handled it a bit differently.
Good Luck.

Whoa! The best I got was when I bought four boxes of .40 and two boxes of .45, she rang up five .40s and one .45. I got one box of .45 at the price of the .04. Whoopee.

About two years ago, at Academy, WWB 9mm was under $5 for a box of 50. I asked the counter guy for a case of ten boxes and took them to the register to check out.
Register person was clearly a temp (holiday season); scanned the carton and the register rang up the per box-of-50 price, times one. I told him "No, it is ten times that, there are ten boxes in this case" and he checked to make sure, and corrected the error.
I walked away feeling virtuous - poorer but honest. In the interim I've started to think I was a fool.
If the discrepancy would come out of the clerk's pocket, ok it was right to say something. If it would come out of the store's bottom line, then it is up to the store to pay their people enough to mark things properly, and I was stupid to correct the mistake. I'll never know.

Bobcat the word you are searching for is integrity. Integrity is what you do when only you will know the difference. You either have it or you don't. I, for one, do not think you were a fool for pointing out the right thing.

It isn't about whose pocket it came out of --- it is about how you think about yourself ---

I would say "you should feel guilty" but then I remember the time the scanner priced some fishing weights at about 10 times what they where supposed be , and I got to lecture on how "the scanner KNOWS....".
I left the weights and walked off, so I'll say, Don’t feel guilty, the scanner KNOWS......
