Considering a Shield 9mm

Considering a Shield in 9mm. Appendix is my most comfortable carry position, however after a little while my Glock19 just seems too big and uncomfortable. Any thoughts on carrying the Shield as an option?

I have one and wife has one. Been carrying mine all day today.
Went to church this morning, went to lunch, went back to church for a recital, went home, went back to church for a Christmas program, just got home, watching ball game, it’s still on my right hip as I write this. I like it.

The shield is an awesome gun. Had mine for two years since i started carrying and its as reliable as any gun can be. Fun to shoot and easy to conceal. I know of several folks who have a shield and they feel the same as i do.

I carry either my Shield in 9 mm. or my Glock 26. The Shield has a more comfortable grip for my hands but the Glock has one or two more rounds capacity. You will like it.

As an instructor, I either own or shoot a lot of guns. I think the Shield is an ideal compromise between concealability and shootability. It is easy to conceal, tall enough to allow a full grip (for most people), and long enough (sight radius) to be very accurate. The trigger is not as good as a CZ, but better than a Glock or Ruger, and works consistently every time.

I carried the 9mm every day for a year or so, then got a good deal on a Shield .45, and carry that now.

I would rather engage a threat with my CZ 75, or my Dan Wesson 1911, but that is not practical for me. I am very fond of the Shield, and recommend it to students.

I have a Shield 9 and it is with me nearly everyday. I liked it so much I just last week went and bought a Shield 45 to go with it.

Any holster recommendations? I really prefer appendix carry.

Not too crazy about the ported barrel in performance model. Ported barrel limits ammo choices. There is a new model out.

As others have said, shield is an excellent gun. I’ve added the magguts +1 to the flush 7 rounder and the +2 to the 8 which gives you good capacity with a single stack, while not adding length to the grip.

As far as aiwb holster, hard to beat mastermindtactics for the money. Includes a wedge and claw. https://www.mastermindtactics.com/shopm ... wb-holster
