How many carry Glock 42 or another .380 for all around personal carry?
Have a G 19 for the bedside and a G-19 in the truck. I think I am ok with the .380 for carry.
Running Federal HST 99 grain in the G 42 and Federal HST 124 grain in the 19's.
Thoughts please.

I don't carry or own a 380 but know several who do. From what I have seen its not a bad option although I'd prob get one that's got a good capacity.

I've got 2 EDC's I rotate between depending on clothing or what I'm doing on that particular day. One is a BG380. I'm comfortable carrying a 380 but I've also run a lot of rounds thru it. It serves it's purpose for up close encounters. I wouldn't exactly want to get into a situation that would require highly accurate shot placement at distance under stress with it though if I'm honest.

I looked at the G42 at one point, but it's close to the same size as the Shield 9. The Shield is my other EDC.

From what i have heard and read the .380 compared to the 9mm is about the same power . I am referring to the design of defense bullets and the extra rounds you get with the .380. I have been thinkin about getting a pocket carry .380 myself!

If i am incorrect about the round comparisons let me know

In the summer my Glock 42 is my main carry gun. It is enough smaller than my 43 that it is my choice for pocket carry.
I really like the Taran Tactical one round magazine extension on it.

If it was me, I'd go with G42.

But...I personally think that smallest effective EDC carry is 9mm.
As a backup, sure .380 is fine. But as a primary, not for me.

I won't carry less than a 9mm. The G43 is not that much bigger.

I carry a LCP as an EDC, work and grocery store don't really feel like I'll need anything but don't want to have nothing so the size works for me. Going into the city/large groups of people, I carry the 380 plus a 4.5" XDm 40.

I often carry my Taurus T738 380 cause it easily slips in my pocket when the wardrobe calls for a small pocket pistol and it shoots well. I'm shooting Federal Low Recoil 90 Grain Hydra Shok JHP with good results and accuracy.

I have a Kel-Tec P3AT and a Glock 42. I use these as back-ups or extreme light clothing carry. I prefer at least a 9mm for my primary carry

By the way, I love my Glock 42. It is one of my favorite guns to shoot (kind of the opposite of my P3AT, which is one of my least favorite guns to shoot

I carry a Kimber Micro Carry 380 IWB. Not sure about other 380's but it is very accurate.

My LCP is accurate as long as the target is a barn at less than 20 feet.

It would be worth while to look at some real data before selecting your ammo. Of course this is not actual data from people being shot, but it is the next best thing.
