Kel-tec Sub2000 9mm gen 2

#1

Post by loscar141 »

Hello,

I have been looking for a sub2000 9mm for awhile now. I been to gun shows, looked online, and a bunch of gun shops around Houston.
And yes, while I have seen them, there have always been 2 problems, they are .40cal or cost more then I am willing to pay from 500 to 599.
That was until i walked into academy today. I saw one on the rack, so I asked to see it and was pleased to see it was 9mm.
What pleased me even more was the price, only $430. I bought it right away.

So if your looking for sub2000 9mm gen 2, for under MSRP. try academy.
Ask the sales rep. to look it up for you, they can tell which stores have them.

Well the reason that I have been looking for one is my friend has one.
I have taken it to the range a few times.
its fun to shoot, cheaper then an AR. cheaper to shoot, plus with a glock factory 33 rd mag and 17 rd mag, it makes a good home defense weapon.
I would trust it with my life. but yea i want to take it to range. have to wait till Saturday.

Great price. I just got delivery of one that I purchased from Gunbroker. Have not had time to test it. Mine came with the Magpul 17 rd and not the official Glock mag but I have ordered a couple of the Glock18 ( large cap ) mags. I have never seen one in a gun store so consider yourself one of the lucky few. Most times when I go to Academy I see a model I want in the gun case and when I ask the clerk if they have one he says no. Go figure. We will have to compare field tests.

That why i made the post, they are not as rare as they use to be.I Talked to the sales guys and asked him to look up which stores had them in stock he listed a bunch of stores with 2 to 4 in stock.if the last gun they have is a display model, i would still take it, at least at academy, they don't let customer dry fire.

I like the Sub2K, but be careful when you buy it. As you know, they come configured to accept either Glock, Beretta, or other specific brand mags. It is not one size fits all. They look alike from the outside, so make sure you get one that accepts the brand of mag that you want to use. Some people have found this out after the deal was done.

I found one at the Pasadena gun show about a month ago and gave $420 for it. Sitting amongst other guns on a rack and it wasn't folded... so I think most people thought it was a toy gun as there was a box for some airsoft gun sitting above it. However mine only came with a 10rd Glock Mag. I quickly ordered the 33 rd mags and off to Marksman Gun Range I went. Lots of FUN and ACCURATE as heck!! I love my Kel Tec Sub 2000 9mm Gen 2!! Won't trade it for anything... but they are hard to find, and a lot of people don't know what they are either. But prior to me finding mine... I saw a couple at the gun shows but they were around $700 and they actually gouged someone for that price! There are obviously some very desperate, stupid, and impatient people out there. Just like Glocks selling for $589 all day at gun shows. I know a guy that sells them for $489 all day long. Why would I want to pay almost $100 more???

But rock on with that fun toy!!! It's a blast!!!

I called Academy and they don't have it in their system at all, anywhere. Are you sure it was Academy?

He said the only Keltec they have anywhere are pistol accessories.

Academy in North Richland Hills had one last night. I decided to forego the Kel Tec and go with an AR 9 pistol.

Strange… they don't list them on their web site and the employee couldn't find any in their system.

I know that isn't true. I bought my PMR 30 at Academy. Also saw a KSG at one.

Go to another Academy. He probably spelled Kel Tec wrong.

Yeah. for some reason they don't have them on their website, but i guess for best results go into the store, you know how gun counters can get busy.

okay i just got off the phone with academy, on I10 and bunker hill and they have one I'm thinking about going to pick it up myself, get me another one.
they don't have on the rack because it was on hold for some one due to nic delay.

one more thing the sale person says that all the sub2000s are the glock17 9mm versions they don't sell the 40cal

I just spoke to the wrong person I guess.
Thanks for the heads up. I'll go to another Academy and have him ask around to the other stores.

Thanks everyone!

Academy sometimes has a great inventory. Sometimes not.
