Aside from a few YouTube videos watched, I am a total NFA noob. I own no NFA items (yet) and have nothing in process. I do have suppressors and SBRs on my radar. But, not anytime soon. (Unless I accidentally get the right lotto ticket handed to me.)
For purposes of inheritance, I don't see me wanting to ever purchase an NFA item without a trust.
Is there reason to get a trust established now, for my circumstance?
Any reason to start an NFA trust now if nothing owned or in process?

Keep in mind all responsible persons listed on the trust (if any item is acquired starting in July) will require the full background check, prints, photos, etc.

I still think a trust is the way to go. It provides much more benefit then negative to me.

I would tend to agree with winters on this. We actually set our trust up in such a way that it should stand the test of time with multiple generations and hopefully make the family collection something that gets passed down instead of sold at the first chance. Besides, its still useful if you buy anything in the next couple months

Also, its up to you as to how many responsible persons you have on the trust to start off. You can always go the route of getting the trust, purchasing a variety of items, and eventually adding family members/friends to the trust at a latter date. That's another one of the benefits of a trust.

You also have to remember if you don't use a trust. You can't "loan" the device to anyone without you being present. So in my case my father wouldn't be able to use my suppressors without me present and they couldn't be stored at his house if needed. Also if something happens to me then really no one else can posses them without technically breaking the law.
