What are you thoughts, recommendations, likes, dislikes, etc?

I have look at a few, but most just don't appeal to me, fulgy comes to mind. Yeah I know they are not supposed to be pretty, but some are just plain fugly and odd ot me.

I have (actually its my daughters) a Walther P22.

Some people complain that they malfunction; however, I have had zero problems with it.

It's hard to go wrong with the tried-and-true Ruger, either the traditional style, or the .22/45 if you like a 1911 grip angle. They're rugged, reliable, and available in a mind-numbing variety.

I like the Walther P22, although I don't own one. The Beretta "Neo" is a little out there, style-wise.

I'd like to have a good single-action 9 shot .22 revolver, too. You don't have to worry about snakeshot not cycling the action if you're cycling it by thumb power. :D

Ruger 22/45, my first true fun gun.....Just put a red dot on it. Best price in town Academy Sports.......Or go to a gun show and get a Ruger single six combo, 22LR and 22mags, I have one of them also, if you like six shooters that one is a blast......

I bought a Walther P22 for my 7yr old son...his first handgun. I like it, but it's not exactly a precision pistol. It's a great plinker, and a lot of fun.

If you want a tack-driver, take a look at the Browning Buckmark or the Ruger Mark III. Both are very nice.

I'm with KB on this one as well...

The Ruger's are a real fun little gun to shoot...And to introduce someone into the shooting sports...

I bet the Walther (which I have never owned or shot) is a dream as well...

If I ever come across one I might even try it out just to prove the point...

Are all of those Walther line of pistols that ergonomically designed, and do the features graduate up through all the calibers they produce???

I think I got a brochure from the NRA convention on those Walthers, somewhere in the house...I'll look at it tonight...

Regarding the Walther, I have the P99 and love it, however, the P22 seems to be a little finicky for some people. The main complaints I've heard are the jamming problems with sub-sonic ammo, the gun is about 75% the size of the P99 and may be too small for larger hands, and the slide wearing prematurely in spots. Some of these issues may have been worked out by now though.

Another suggestion is the SIG Mosquito. I handled one at the NRA show and loved it. It fit my hand like a glove. I just wish it shot something more than a .22 and I'd use it for carrying.

I own a Ruger Mark 2, Ruger Super Single 6, Browning Buckmark and a P22.

The Ruger is Mark 2 is a well designed pistol and built like a tank. One draw back is they can be a little difficult to take down and detail clean. Not bad once your used to it, but tricky at first. Feeds anything I give it.

Super Single 6 is a good revolver if your looking towards that. Bonus is you can shoot 22 mags with it as well with spare cylinder. I also have one in .17 HMR. Wished I would have waited till the Mach 2 came out and could have had a cylinder for that cal with it as well.

Browning Buckmark is also a good pistol and lots easer to take down and clean then the Ruger. I also find it shoots a little more accurate then the Ruger Mark 2. Feeds anything I give it as well.

P22. I have not had any problems with the slide wearing prematurely, but I do have problems with some ammo. It is picky. If I stick to the hot stuff I have no problems at all with it. It is smallish but not to bad. Mag release is at the bottom of the trigger guard so that took me a little getting used to.

Just a little of feed back on what I have.

My experience is that the Colt Woodsman is a very nice 22. Not so easy to find though.

Never shot one, but I understand that the Browning Buckmark is quite nice.

Have a Walther P22 that is fun, and it is OK for what I paid.

If you want a true fun gun, it would be hard to beat an S&W 41. I have one and it is on the "never sale" list.

Seriously, Glenn---You really consider the 41 a "fun gun"? What do you consider to be a serious target pistol? $800.00 for a "fun gun"?

Mine was a gift, so it is cheaper than a P22 to me 8) .

Who was it that said something to the effect that only accurate rifles are interesting.?

I feel the same about pistols. They are only fun if they are more accurate than me.

I take mine out hunting, walking in the woods, etc. I figured what good is it if I can't carry it.
