A co worker of mine has been looking for a full sized 9mm pistol and had run across several nice reviews of the CZ 75. It sounded like there was some claims of good accuracy and performance. I haven't run across this one. Does any one have any real experience with the CZ 75 and why does it get such good reviews?

My daily carry is a CZ75B. It has lots of rounds through it and still prints better than I can hold. It is very reliable and sturdy.

It gets good reviews for a number of reasons. One is that, compared to pistols of similar quality, capacity, and function, they used to be inexpensive. Not sure if that is still true these days.

Another is that they are "old school" in the sense of the company being around for many years.

Col Copper reportedly wrote that he thought well of the design. That meant something to people who think the 1911 is the perfect pistol.

The regular CZ75 is all steel - there are polymer CZs now, but they used to be all steel - and that meant a lot to people into traditional materials.

If I could find a pistol that did what my CZ75 does, better than the CZ does it, I'd buy one.

I'm sure there are better pistols out there, but this one just works for me.

I have no experience with it, but everything I've read has been positive.

For me at least, of those guns I've fired, the CZ75 has the best DA trigger. The polymer frame version is a little lighter than the all steel version. My son wanted the stainless version and at the time at least, that wasn't so easy to find. The standard mag is 18 rounds for the SP01 Phantom without the fatter grip of the Beretta 92. When I used to go to a range people who'd never seen or fired one were favorably impressed.

I can recommend CZ pistols and have experience with the 75B, P01 and SP01 models. They are relative accurate out of the box, robust and reliable. The factory sights are functional and average but not outstanding. The 75B and SP01 models are all steel guns and are on the heavier side. CZ's are affordable and have proven records. There are compact models which weigh lesser than the full size models. There is also a variety of polymer guns available from CZ. If you want to look at some enhanced models for target shooting look at the CZ custom shop models.
Bottom line is CZ's are rock solid and in my opinion well worth the investment.

I have experience with the SP01, P01, and P06. All are rock solid reliable. I like the solid steel and alloy frames. I have other pistols but they do not take a back seat to any others.

I have three.
The first was a MDL 9010 market at the time (1985) in Germany as a Frankonia Combat Competition special. It has a very precise overtravel adj trigger, adj sights, extended mag release, opened and beveled mag well opening, and a few other things. I have shot more than 15,000 recorded rounds through it and no failures not attributed to intentional dirty abuse.
I also have a CZ75B and a CZ75 P-01 all shoot very well for me and my wife and son.

Other than being a heavy gun I would feel confident in carrying any of them as a SD weapon, knowing that they would go bang every time I squeezed the trigger and they will shoot as well as most humans can manage in a SD event.

I'd put the CZ 75 right up there with the Browning High Power as one of the most fun 9mm guns to shoot. Mine has been as functional and reliable as a Glock, with better ergonomics and comparable capacity. I would carry it, but work issued me a pistol without any external safety, so I've been drifting towards those instead, for commonality of operation. However, I would definitely recommend the CZ line to anyone looking for a new gun, whether it be for plinking, practical competition, or carry.

I purchased a PO1 online. (a lot of prior research) Never held one in my hand. I then continued the craziness by shooting it for the first time at my concealed carry exam. I shot a 250. They fit the hand perfectly and the sights are pretty good for off the shelf. For me, it's a little large to conceal. Maybe after the 1st of the year...

Here's my first CZ, a CZ 75 SA:



It's been a fantastic gun. Good trigger, nice ergos, light recoil, very accurate. Unlike the traditional da/sa CZs, the SA is a SAO gun, and has an extended beavertail, along with extended mag release and extended ambidextrous safeties.

I'm such a big fan of it, that I just ordered this to go with it:



Along with a bunch of parts from Cajun Gun works to upgrade both. They're really nice guns stock, but CZ Custom or Cajun Gun Works parts are supposed to really make them shine. The SA is getting a straight trigger/race hammer, and the P01 is getting a reach reduction kit, hammer kit and both are getting new springs, etc.

Looking forward to see how it turns out. The straight trigger CZs make me drool.



Just need to find a Compact L so I can do a SAO/Straight trigger conversion to it so it can match my SA.

every time i see a used CZ75 and p01 popup i get tempted to try one out since they have such a low bore axis and reportedly good triggers but i just never can justify the purchase.
Time to start selling off some glocks to fund some more hammer fired pistols.

I bought my 1st CZ 75B about 12 years ago and sold my Glock a few days later.
