My "Free" Gun

My uncle surprised me by calling me and letting me know a gun was on the way to my FFL. His words were: "my fingers are too fat to shoot this so I didn't know what else to do with it". Now I have a Bersa Thunder .380 CC that is essentially brand new (he only shot it a few times) and I got it for the great price of a transfer fee. I have to say that I'm impressed with this little PPK clone and it shoots decent groups if you can manage to see the "sights" on this thing. I shot a few mags through it and didn't have a hiccup which was nice because my Sig P238 coughed up a few FTE.

Love Bersa Thunder .380s. Great little guns, especially free!

I've always loved how they felt in my hands, it's like they were molded to it, but I never bothered looking for one when I was in the mood to buy. I guess it paid off since this landed in my lap.

I have had one for several years. It is my carry when in dress clothes and as a quick "throw in the pocket" pistol with cargo pants or shorts. It has been absolutely reliable. Congrats on acquiring a great little carry piece.

We've got one of the standard Bersa Thunders, ostensibly for my wife (she chose it). I haven't fired it in a while, but I never had any issues with it. A solid little pistol. Congrats on the great fortune.

One should always be cautious about internet opinions, but it seems like the Bersa Thunder gets lots of praise for its reliability and general "good gun" qualities. I may have to get one some day just to see what all the hulabaloo is about.

I know you cannot limp wrist a Bersa. All the girls . . . and ironically my brother . . . I know firing it would get FTFeed often because of it.

Thank you. A few more rounds through it and it'll be in my daily carry lineup.

It's definitely not a bad pocket gun. It solved my pocket carry problem that I was having with my LCR as it fits rather well in all of my pockets. Thanks.

I too really like the Bersa Thunder and how it fits my hand. It shoots very reliably for me, but my wife has FTFs on occasion with the same weapon. Maybe the limp wristing mentioned. The earlier model Bersa Thunders had sights that were nickel just like the slide and to me were somewhat difficult to see. I noticed last year that the newer Bersa Thunders have black sights set in the nickel slide so I tried using some black paint to paint the rear sight in particular - it does help.

treeman-Yes it does not like limp wrists. I had not shot mine in a while due to the lack of .380 ammo. The first magazine was bad. Then I realized it was me and it ran perfectly.
