Anyone else thinking of not going to The Ballpark in Arlington or Minute Maid park since installing metal detectors? I love baseball but not sure about making it gun free zone, when will they realize that anyone who wants to shot and kill someone will do so no matter what is in there way? Hopefully they will let State laws into account.

Professional sporting events have always been against the law for CHL carry, so no real change here unless you have been carrying even though it is illegal.

It is already illegal to carry at a Rangers game.. I suppose the Astro's opponents are considered "Professional" sports teams

I'm against the screenings that the DHS wants everyone to go through. I don't care how I come across but its just the first step to a police state and erosion of your rights. What this does is slowly make the people used to invasive searches and loss of privacy. A frog in boiling water doesn't realize it's being cooked to death. All of these so called security measures is against the American way. By enacting these measures shows the terrorists have won.
I'd rather take my chances than submit to the TSA type screening. I'll keep my rights thank you. I'll just add that to another place not to go. The NFL has started an X sized clear bag policy this year. Not all states prohibit carrying at sporting events.

I also thought there was at least one or two states that allowed concealed carry at professional sporting events, but don't remember which ones and it appears my googlefu is weak tonight.
Something smells a bit odd about the OPs question. I realize that some folks might forget about the pro sports thing, I did only a few months after I first obtained my CHL, but the OP has been around here since 2009. He should know better.

Some of the people willing to leave their gun in their car to watch rich people play games might not be willing to also leave their pocket knife in the car.

besides being illegal because its a pro sporting event, as a lifelong Astros fanatic its also illegal due to the copious number of $12 beers it takes me to get through the loss.

Good grief, man, for that much moolah you can get an entire six-pack of real beer, and have four bucks left over for chips and salsa!

Yeah... Have you even seen those "special" frosties at Wendy's? You can pay them like $1.50 for a teaspoon or two of mini M&Ms, or you can pay Kroger almost the same amount for an entire bag.
