I am seeking anyone with experience with the Heritage .22/22mag revolvers. I believe I want to get one. I am looking at the one with 2 cylinders in 22 and 22 mag. The one I am looking at has an octogon barrell I have read good reviews on Heritage firearms. Also they have came out with a 9 shot version of this pistol. This one will be for fun shooting

I have one. It is my cheapest gun but ironically, it is my favorite. Every year, they sell it at Academy for $100 black Friday sale. That's where I got mine. I got the 22 magnum cylinder online from Heritage. 22 Magnum will be good for self defense in a pinch on a really tight budget. 22lr will be cheap for practice.
22 semi autos sometimes jam because the powder charge in 22lr is not that accurate due to low cost of the round and small size of the brass makes it difficult to manufacture. However, revolver doesn't jam due to variable powder charge. Action is predictable and the trigger is real crisp. The sights are nice and it is really easy to shoot.
I could shoot that little gun all day.

Got mine the same way. Paid $99 on a few Black Fridays ago. It came with a coupon to get the magnum cylinder for $20.

I got mine, with a round barrel, from a guy who took my NRA Basic Pistol Instructor's class with me. It was unfired NIB, and came with both the .22 LR and the .22 Magnum cylinders, and I paid him around $90-$100 as I recall. It appears to have some kind of parkerizing finish. I've had it for a couple of years now, but I've only fired it once or twice.
It's an OK pistol. The quality of manufacture certainly isn't as good as a S&W or Ruger or Taurus, for instance. But I don't think it will blow up on you. The sights on mine are rudimentary, consisting of a notched top strap rear and a tall, rounded front blade. There is no adjustment to either, so accuracy is a matter of adjusting yourself to what the gun does, not the other way around.

Thank you for the reply. It seems most reviews I've read are good. I just want it for cheap shooting I am glad I have a few thousand rounds to play with. the .22 mag are going to be tough to find.

I tried the last two Black Fridays but they were sold out by the time I got there and no rain checks. Maybe this year will be the year I get lucky, especially if there's no 22 ammo on the shelves for the next six months too.

Bought one at Academy. good little revolver - fixed sights. Like another stated, it has become one of my favorites. I could shoot it all day. After I'm done shooting, I shoot the 4 corner push pins and drop the target at 20-25 yards.

I used to sometimes carry my 6.5" HHR in a crossdraw position. It's a very fun to shoot gun!
